Assailants Raid Ofwono Opondo’s Home, Family Members In Great Danger

Kampala: Government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo says machete men have attacked his home in Nasuuti, Mukono district.
“For now l have lost contact with members of my family reported to be under attack by unknown people,” Opondo said in a tweet Thursday night.

My home in #Nasuuti said to be under attack by unknown assailants.
Am out of home and lost contact with family members.

I don’t really know but there’s reported on my home.
Police should be about there now. Lost contact with my family.
Attackers said to be many in number, have entered my house and into the bedrooms.
My family under danger.


Assailants said to be many and with machetes in my bedroom and compound.
Police is outside have not yet entered.
For now l have lost contact with members of my family reported to be under attack by unknown people.
By press time, Opondo had not indicated success in corresponding with his family but confirmed the police had swung into action to neutralize the attack.
“Police have now gained entry into the house, found most things in the bedrooms turned upside down. The assessments reportedly forced my wife and three daughters into another room. They haven’t yet been found them. Possibly hiding.”
When contacted for a comment, deputy Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire confirmed the incident.
“Yes, he called us about an alleged attack and we are on the ground . Statements yet to be recorded after canvassing the place for alleged attackers, “Owoyesigyire said.
