Breaking! Fire guts office of Chief Justice Owiny Dollo at supreme court.

The office of the Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny-Dollo at the Supreme Court in Kololo, Kampala has caught fire this morning.

According to sources, the fire started inside Chief Justice Owiny Dollo’s office before he reported for work, but two judges of the Supreme Court, Elidaad Mwangushya and Mike Chibita, were on the premises and escaped unhurt.

”No injuries have been reported and all support staff have been safely evacuated,” said an eye witness adding that they first heard loud bangs on the third floor and later saw smoke coming out.

Four fire fighting machines with a fire brigade were deployed and to put out the fire which had destroyed some items and equipment but the extent of the damage has not yet been established.
