Comfirmed:  Museveni Set To Address Nation On Covid -19 This Week

 The much-anticipated Presidential address on the COVID-19 situation in the country has finally been confirmed to take place on saturday this week September 19, 2020 at 8pm, Senior Press Secretary to President Museveni said.

Don Wanyama, said in a message to journalists: “The tentative date for the Presidential Address on the Covid-19 pandemic is Saturday, September 19th at 8pm. In case of adjustments/changes, we shall keep you posted.”

Museveni Commends Teso Leaders For Bringing Peace In The Region As He Commissions Campaign Team Ahead Of 2021 General Elections

President Yoweri Museveni last month said he would update the country on the COVID-19 situation this week.But sources said the President had not yet met the COVID-19 taskforce to update him with the latest developments.

Museveni is expected to come out with new measures to help control the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, and also further ease the lock-down that’s been on in the country since March.

Don Wanyama Confirmed Through His Twitter

Among the key issues he is expected to give guidelines to include reopening of schools and coming ‘scientific’ elections proposed by the Electoral Commission, with several parties now already involved in picking candidates to contest on different positions of different regions.

The development comes at after Ministry of health today confirmed that Uganda registered 96 new COVID-19 cases from results tested on September 12, 2020, bringing cumulative total confirmed cases to 4,799 and 2,256 recoveries.

3 COVID-19 deaths from Kampala were also registered, bringing total COVID-19 deaths to 55.
