Covid-19 Business Survey: Economic Output Down By UGX 1Trillion

According to the survey, 1.5% of establishments reduced their payroll size as a result of the lock down and associated effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, while 29.4% of the businesses closed operations during the April lock down period. The COVID-19 Business Survey, conducted by the Uganda Bureau of Statistics, also indicates that Gross output for the formal economy excluding Finance and Insurance fell from 7.3 Trillion shillings to 5.8 Trillion in April 2020.

Similarly from the research conducted by the East African School Of Library And Information Science at Makerere University on the Effects of the Covid-19 Pandemic on closing of educational institutions but this research particularly focused on: Information Seeking Behavior Of Secondary School Students During The Lockdown In Uganda. And below is the report entailing the Findings and Recommendations to the Government (see Attachment)
