Covid-19: NDA blocks unvaccinated staff, visitors from accessing premises

The National Drug Authority (NDA) has banned all unvaccinated people including their staff from accessing its premises.

“Effective November 15, 2021, National Drug Authority (NDA) will require all persons who seek to access its offices to present evidence of vaccination against COVID-19 or a negative PCR test taken at least within 72 hours,” Abuaz Rwamwiri, the NDA Public Relations Manager said in a statement.

This measure, he said is aimed at controlling the spread of COVID-19.
“NDA has authorised the importation and use of various COVID -19 vaccines including AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, Moderna and Sinovac and assures the public that the vaccines are safe and effective,” he said

NDA has joined four public offices that require staff and visitors to present evidence of covid vaccination or a PCR taken within 72hrs.

These include; National Medical Stores (NMS), Ministry of Health (MOH), the Parliament and the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF).

“NDA shall continue to monitor the safety of the COVID-19 vaccines as is done for all other drugs,” Rwamwiri said.
