Dybala ‘Wants £18m-Per-Year To Sign New Juventus Contract’

Juventus star Paulo Dybala is reportedly demanding a salary of £18 million-per-year if he is to stay at the club this summer.

The Argentine forward was on the brink of leaving the Italian giants last summer and was heavily linked with Tottenham, Manchester United and PSG but he hit his stride this season and became crucial to the Juventus attack.

Dybala picked up the Serie A’s MVP award and scored 17 goals and provided 14 assists in 46 appearances across all competitions during an impressive campaign.

But, according to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, his form has made Dybala question his value and he is now demanding a pay rise to keep him at the club.

The former Palermo striker has two years left on his current deal in Turin but the club are keen to tie him down to longer terms in a bid to ward off interest from around Europe.

It is claimed Dybala’s agent has demanded he be paid £18m-per-year. That would make him the club’s second highest earned behind Cristiano Ronaldo.

He is already the fifth best-paid player at the club, behind only Ronaldo, Matthijs de Ligt, Gonzalo Higuain and Barcelona-bound Miralem Pjanic.

It is thought Juventus will struggle to match his demands though. But Ronaldo has been linked with a move away following their disappointing exit in the Champions League and his departure would free up funds.

However, Dybala’s demands come amid speculation that he is frustrated at being transfer listed with Juve considering his future.

The club are said to be considering cashing in on him to fund a major re-build this summer.

Juventus won the title but were dumped out of the Champions League by Lyon, with Andrea Pirlo taking over from Maurizio Sarri. Dybala could fetch bids of between £90m and £110m.

Tuttosport reported the 26-year-old is unsettled after hearing of the club’s new stance – just a year after they attempted to sell him to PSG, Manchester United and Spurs.

Dybala has played 228 times for the club scoring a total of 95 goals. In that time he has won five Serie A titles and three Coppa Italia trophies.
