Electoral Commission Rejects Presidential Aspirant Over Failure To Pay 20 Million Nomination Fees

The Electoral Commission has rejected John Katumba from being nominated over incomplete papers which included failure to pay the shs 20m nomination fee. Katumba finally made it at Kyambogo grounds for nomination after his car got a flat tyre, and he decided to run to the nomination venue.

Presidential Aspirant, John Katumba’s nomination has hit a snag over his failure to produce proof of payment for the Shs20 Million nomination fees required by the electoral commission.

“Because you have no proof of payment of the Ushs 20m fee, we can’t proceed to have you nominated,” Justice Simon Byabakama to Katumba.

”I haven’t yet paid the Ushs 20m in the bank yet because when I tried, I was asked for an employment letter which I don’t have since I am not employed but I have the money with me”  Presidential aspirant John Katumba

So far, the electoral commission has nominated two candidates including incumbent Yoweri Tiburabwa Kaguta Museveni and Rt. Lt. Gen. Henry Tumukunde.
