Exposed! how NUP’s Moses Bugirwa, journalist blackmailed deputy speaker Anita Among, other city tycoons to extort money

As the saying goes, the hunter is being hunted, the situation is not different for former Kamuli Municipality MP aspirant and NUP youth leader for Eastern Uganda Bigirwa Moses who was recently arrested for blackmailing Uganda’s 11th parliament deputy speaker Anita Among.

Bigirwa was on Thursday arraigned before Buganda Road court on charges of offensive communication and libel.

Bigirwa last week was arrested for allegedly demanding shs 100million from Anita Among if she didn’t want her name to be tainted via social media.

Bigirwa appeared jointly with one Pedson Kareire, a journalist with drone media, whom CID police PRO Charles Twine said was working with Bigirwa and others still at large in threatening city tycoons and politicians to cough millions of money or risk being published in the media and social media platforms.

Kareire has reportedly been using his drone media to threaten their victims as Bigirwa pushes in demanding for the ransoms worth millions.

Birigrwa was arrested after he allegedly claimed to have a dossier implicating the deputy speaker in corruption cases. He is suspected to be behind the recent blackmail against the Bukedea Woman Member of Parliament.

Police investigators say Bigirwa is among many suspects who are being hunted for witch-hunting and peddling lies against the Among.

On Wednesday, Ms Among told MPs that she was not concerned about the falsehoods but also affirmed that the perpetrators of the malicious dossier would soon face the full wrath of the law.

The fake missive which widely circulated on the internet suggested that Deputy Speaker was in hot soup and would soon face exit from Parliament due to her unscrupulous tendencies.
