Uganda Premier League and CECAFA Kagame Cup champions Express FC have confirmed the acquisition of former KCCA FC holding midfielder Nicholas Kasozi on a one-year loan deal from the Uganda Premier League relegated side Kyetume FC.
Kasozi’s deal follows the report of his disappearance from the Uganda national team camp that was preparing for its World Cup qualifiers.
“I am happy to be a Red Eagle even if not on a permanent basis but any player out there would want to be at such a club, I know what is expected of me on and off the pitch and I will not disappoint, the boys have welcomed me very well and I have already settled in,” Nicholas Kasozi told the club Website.
In addition to Kasozi, the Red Eagles have acquired the services of defender Deus Bukenya inking a one-year contract as a free agent. The versatile defender is expected to be the icing on the cake in Express’ defense a department that has proven to be top-notch that in comparison with other local opponents.
Express FC is currently in camp preparing for their first continental game in 13 years one that shall be played on Friday in the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
The Red Eagles are set to lock horns with Sudanese giants Al Merrikh at the St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende as their traditional home at Wankulukuku does not match the minimum CAF stadium standards.
