Fire Guts Vitafoam Njeru, Mattresses Worth Millions Perish
Voitaform mattress company’s factory in Njeru Buikwe district has been razed by a fire outbreak that till now, its source is unknown.
According to eyewitnesses on the ground, hundreds of mattresses in various sizes were seen being pulled outside the store although were badly burnt.
“A number of mattresses have been burnt and a lot of them are being pulled out of the stores although are already in ash form,” a Witness said.
Meanwhile, there is still combated efforts by employers and employees to curb fires from spreading as they wait for Police Fire Brigade to come for rescue.
This fire outbreak follows that of Entebbe road where fire flames burst at Moka Energy Petrol Station last week and paralysed Entebbe road traffic which is known to be longer in the evening rush hours.
“Moka energy petrol station in Kitala Entebbe Road has caught fire and paralyzed traffic around the area. Police fire Fighters are currently battling the flames,” an eye witness reported.
This followed the outbreak at , Makerere University that razed Ivory tower and later in the evening another fire broke out and burnt the structure housing the council room which shares the same floor with the Vice Chancellor’s office.
