Football Transfer News

Transfer News brings you all the latest gossip, breaking stories, new signings and departures from the La Liga,Premier League, Serie A and the rest of the world, as football clubs look to bolster their squads.

Gunners ‘keen on Petagna’

Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing Andrea Petagna from Serie A giants Napoli.

Mikel Arteta has identified the striker as a good option for his side after he scored 12 goals on loan at SPAL last season.

However they could face a battle to land his signature as Napoli want to keep Petagna at the Sao Paolo, as reports CalcioMercato.

Barca ready to accept Ajax bid for Suarez

Luis Suarez may have played his last game for Barcelona as speculation grows that he could be set to join his former club Ajax.

The Uruguayan forward is Barca’s third all-time top scorer with a superb 198 goals in the six seasons he has been at the Nou Camp since joining from Liverpool in 2014.

He has recently struggled with injury problems, however, and at the age of 33 is arguably past his best.

President Josep Bartomeu admitted on Tuesday that there would be a major overhaul this summer following the club’s dismal season, which culminated in the embarrassing 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-final last week.

Inter Plotting Triple Swoop

Inter Milan are plotting a triple transfer raid for N’Golo Kante, Emerson Palmieri and Chris Smalling, according to The Sun.

Inter manager Antonio Conte worked with N’Golo Kante and Emerson while manager at Chelsea and Smalling had a successful loan spell at fellow Serie A side Roma last season.

The Italians already have a host of former Premier League stars in their ranks, including Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez and Christian Eriksen.

United tipped to sign Cavani and Koulibaly

Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has advised the club to target Uruguayan forward Edinson Cavani and Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly this summer.

Cavani, 33, is a free agent after his contract with PSG expired, while Koulibaly is one of the most highly-sought after defenders in Europe following his superb displays in Serie A.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is known to be keen to strengthen his squad ahead of next season, with the likes of Dortmund star Jadon Sancho and Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish in his sights.

But speaking to the Football Index Podcast Saha suggested Cavani could be a much cheaper alternative to bolster the Red Devils’ attack.

Milan still chasing Aurier

Milan are still chasing the signature of Tottenham full-back Serge Aurier – according to Calcio Mercato.

The Rossoneri are not keen on meeting Spurs’ £23 million ($30m) valuation of the 27-year-old, but he is open to the prospect of moving to San Siro.

Milan will look to offload a few players before submitting a formal bid for Aurier, who has slipped down the pecking order at Tottenham this season.

Chelsea & Atletico target Bernardeschi

Juve star set to leave Turin

Chelsea and Atletico Madrid have identified Federico Bernardeschi as a transfer target – according to Calcio Mercato.

Both clubs could launch bids for the 26-year-old winger this summer, with Juve eager to cash in on a prized asset.

Bernardeschi featured in 38 games for Juve in 2019-20, and still has two years left to run on his existing contract.
