Fort portal police accused of mishandling people after pouring hot cooking oil on a street vendor for violating curfew

Residents of Fort Portal city are worried about the treatment by the police while enforcing curfew guidelines. This was after police beat up a street trader,

According to Henry Namara who was closing up his business at the cusp of curfew hours when police came chasing the rest of the people from the street, one officer swang into action and kicked him from the back pouring hot cooking oil on his face and part of the leg.

Namara was badly injured and is in police custody

The police spokesperson, Rwenzori west region the Vicent Twesigye confirmed the incident saying investigations are still ongoing
