FUFA announces new dates, venue for Stanbic Uganda cup to finalize 2020/21 season
FUFA releases new Stanbic Uganda Cup dates and venue to finalize 2020-21 season football ahead of the new 2021-22 football season that is likely to start with the Pilsner Super 8 tournament.
The Federation of Uganda Football Associations has publicized the new dates just weeks after it had stated that the competition would resume with semifinal games staged to be played before the end of August.
However, Vipers SC then threatened to withdraw through a letter by the club CEO Simon Njuba saying that they were unable to assemble and prepare the team within such a short time. This was followed by an indefinite suspension of the competition by FUFA.
Today, FUFA released new dates and a new venue for the 2020-21 Stanbic Uganda Cup season. The latest changes see the tournament semifinal games change the format from a two-legged to a one-leg encounter. All games shall be hosted at the FUFA Technical center in Njeru.
