Happening Now: UNEB Releases 2020 PLE Results

The Minister of Education, Ms. Janet Museveni has released the 2020 Primary Leaving Examination results at State House Entebbe.

This is the first set of exams to be released by the Education ministry and Uganda National Examination Board (Uneb).

While releasing the results, UNEB said heads of schools won’t be able to access hard copies of 2020 Primary Leaving Examinations.

The examinations body said schools will, however, download soft copies of results from Uneb portal.

Of 749,761 candidates, 395,855 (53 per cent) females and 353,957 males (47 per cent) registered for PLE from 14,300 centres.

Ms. Jennifer Kalule Musamba, the UNEB Principal Public Relations Officer advised that schools will access the results through the UNEB portal, the same they used to register candidates

“Every school with a UNEB Center Number can access our portal. The portal was used during registration of candidates and it will be used to send results once they are released (on Friday),” she said.

“Once they are released, the results for each school will be automatically uploaded to the portal,” she said.

Musumba said no hard copies of the results will be available at the UNEB offices for now, until a later date when conditions permit.

“UNEB will officially inform the District, Municipal and City Inspectors of Schools to collect the hard copies of the results from UNEB offices,” she added .

For candidates, parents and other interested parties, she advised that they may use the Short Message Services (SMS) on mobile telecom networks which will post the results of candidates on their mobile sets instantly.

In your message box, type UACE <space> INDEX NUMBER and send it to 6600.

For example, to check the results of the candidate with index number U1016/501, in your message box, type UACE U1016/501 AND SEND TO 6600.

The user should then receive his/her examination results or registration details instantly. You will receive an SMS at a cost of UGX 500 per candidate
