Hungry Residents Feast On Snake Sold As Mad Fish

15 people, all residents of Kasaka – Buyobo zone in Bulopa Sub County in Kamuli District are worried after eating a snake unknowingly thinking that they were eating mad fish locally known as (endu/emmamba).

According to residents, they bought the snake from one Minka Mikairi Kyabike who normally sells mad fish in Bulopa and they realized after feeling stomach pain.

Kyabike explained that he was looking for money to feed his kids who he says had taken a week without eating anything.

However, Assistant District Health Officer Kamuli District, Dr. Lyagoba Moses, says that people should not be worried if the snake was cooked after removing the intestines.

Dr. Lyagoba explains that there’s a small intestine that is poisonous and once it’s removed, everything is okay.
