According to Charles Twine the CID Spokesperson, on 22nd September 2021, a message announcing the death of IGP Okoth Martin Ochola was posted on a Facebook account in the names of BRISON OLYWL OZ and upon investigation, it was established that it was opened by a telephone number under the names of Nakazibwe Fatumah.

He notes that upon arrest, Nakazibwe denied having a Facebook account but told detectives that her son, Mubarak Mubiru always uses her phone, leading to his arrest. On interrogation, Mubiru admitted to owning the Facebook account and that he had posted the message.

However, Twiine said that after being informed about the completion of the investigations, Ochola decided to pardon the 17-year-old student since he is still a minor. He notes that the case file has been forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions to formally drop the charges of offensive communication against the student. According to Twiine, the student has also been counseled on how to behave responsibly to avoid a re-occurrence of a similar incident in the future.
