Just In: Makerere University Postpones Reopening For Finalists

Makerere University has this evening cancelled the planned reporting of newly promoted final year students on Monday.

According to the university statement, finalists will not report due to technical reasons till further notes when the new date will be communicated.

“Due to technical challenges, Makerere University will not open her doors to finalists on 6th February 2021 as earlier planned. A new date for the opening will be communicated soon. All inconveniences are regretted.”

Makerere University’s communication has come just a few hours to President Museveni’s briefing regarding the phased reopening of schools.

The Cabinet recently allowed schools to reopen for all students apart from pre-primary but no date has been set. President Museveni is expected to clarify more on when exactly schools will be reopened.
