Ministry of health threatens to dismiss von-vaccinated health workers.

The Ministry of Health has threatened to dismiss non-vaccinated health workers against COVID19 starting next year.

Currently, at least 140,000 health workers representing 93 per cent have been vaccinated out of the 150,000 that are expected to receive the jabs.

Dr. Henry Mwebesa, the Director-General Health Services in the Ministry of Health says that 70,000 health workers have received two jabs.

Dr, Mwebesa further noted that given the working environment that is risky, unvaccinated health workers will be told to stay home for two to three weeks and once they continue to defy, they will later be considered to have absconded from work which is direct termination.

Dr. Mwebesa also reminded the general public that the type of vaccines that are in the country currently are the best and safe, hence calling those who are not vaccinated to go for their jabs.
