Nakawa Market Vendor Found Mysteriously Dead In Her Stall
The police at Jinja Road Station have registered a sudden death of Hadijjah Nakyanzi, 55, a resident of Salaama, Makindye Division.
The unfortunate incident took place on Wednesday, July 14th 2021 at Nakawa Market in shop 118 where the victim was found lying lifeless.
According to the Kampala Metropolitan area Deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire, the police were informed and they consequently informed the Ministry of Health team which safely removed the body.
Owoyesigyire told this reporter that the cause of death is currently unknown, but the police has been able to talk to some relatives who ascertained that the deceased has been sleeping in the market since lockdown was enacted again and was having underlying health complications.
The area Police deputy PRO adds that her body has been conveyed to Kampala Capital City Authority mortuary at Mulago for a post mortem to ascertain the cause of death.
On June 18th 2021 as President Museveni announced 42 days lockdown ordered market vendors to sleep at their stalls in a bid to stop their movements that would aid the spread of the novel COVID-19.
The President noted that the Ministry would supply mosquito nets so that these people can lead a better life protected from malaria.
