Police arrests two suspected ADF rebels with deadly weapons

Police in Kisoro district is holding two men suspected to be ADF fighters.

The pair was arrested in a joint security operation led by Kisoro Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Rtd Capt Peter Mugisha.

The two were arrested after UPDF and police raided Nyakabande Transit Camp in an operation to search for deadly tools including machetes, hammers, saws and knives.

The suspects were found with sacks full of petroleum and other objects.

According to Mugisha, ADF rebels entered Uganda through the Bunagana border when the war erupted in Congo.

Security also confiscated fake UNHCR Cards of which some Refugees had and Ugandans who forge them to join refugee Camps.

This comes shortly after two guns were intercepted at Bismakan Bus Park in Kisoro District.
