Energetic singer Roden Y Kabako came out to defend himself yesterday on NBS TV Uncut saying they shouldn’t count him among those artists who went to Gulu.

Several artists went to Gulu a few weeks ago where they met Gen. Salim Saleh, Operation Wealth Creation leader to discuss the problems in the music industry and find the way forward on how to improve their incomes since they can’t perform due to Covid-19 lockdown.

Among them are; Dr Jose Chameleone, Bebe Cool, Pallaso, Karole Kasita, Fefe Bussi, Weasel among others.

However, their fellow singer and former presidential candidate Bobi Wine lashed at them and labeled them beggers and getting involved with the ruling government which he said cannot solve their problems apart from giving handouts to buy them off.

Following the fallout. Bobi Wine called a similar meeting in his home of artists leaning towards his principles. Kabako and Karole Kasita who were among the Gulu contingent still appeared.

The energetic Kabako came out to say that he never entered the barracks in Gulu. He however said that at Bobi Wine’s in Magere, they welcomed him the way he was dressed because it’s home.

“Did you see me in Gulu barracks? Didn’t you hear Fefe Bussi’s song saying I was bounced for not wearing long trousers? However in Magere I dressed the way I wanted and even took selfies with president Bobi wine.” Kabako said.

While the details and motive of the meeting at Bobi wine’s home remain scanty for now, some sources say Bobi intends to counter Salim Saleh’s project with artists.
