StarTimes Uganda Premier League draft fixture for the 2021-22 season released

The Uganda Premier League board has released the StarTimes Uganda Premier League draft fixture for the 2021-22 season.

With just 15 days to the start of the new season which is meant to commence on 15th October 2021, the board has failed to release a confirmed fixture with a first-round draft fixture being the best those in charge can put on the table.

In the released draft, which only covers 50% of the country’s top tier, the defending champions Express FC are seen hosting newcomers Arua Hill SC at The Betway Muteesa Two Stadium in Wankulukuku. The other two games on the first game day of matchday are Mbarara City Vs Soltilo Bright Stars & Onduparaka hosting UPDF

With numerous followers of the game crucifying the Uganda Premier League Board for the delayed fixture, the board leaders have been redirecting the fault to some of the sixteen league clubs failing to meet the minimum requirements for the competition’s license.SUPL_Fixtures-2021-22_Round-One_Draft-15-ClubsDownload

Some clubs have till now failed the confirm where they’ll be hosting their games and in the draft fixture some have not been included with where they’ll be hosting their games. Beyond venues, other clubs have still got so much more to fulfill as far as the FUFA Licencing Committee minimum requirements are concerned with the likes of Busoga Utd not included in the tentative fixture.

In the released draft fixture, the Uganda Premier League board indicates that fixtures may change to the fulfillment of the Club Licensing Requirements. The other changes could be made in order to favor the Television schedule of StarTimes the official broadcaster of the tournament.
