Kampala Kawempe North MP Latif Sebaggala, renowned for extreme political opportunism, had made it a habit flanking Bobi Wine (to capture media visibility) each time he makes major addresses at his Kamwokya headquarters housing PP/NUP. But this might never happen again as Bobi Wine recently reached out to Latif politely imploring him to stop his mischief because it risks portraying things as if he has endorsed him as his favorite contender for Kawempe North MP which he has held as MP for the last 20 years.

Bobi Wine And Kawempe North MP Lafif Ssebagala

Bobi Wine explained he doesn’t want to be misunderstood because even others like Mohamed Segirinya and Suleiman Kidandala who are looking at the same Kawempe North MP Seat and they are equally his men. In fact the Kamwokya insiders say that this new decree of the Principal not sharing the platform with anyone will be applicable not only to the ill-fated Latif Sebaggala but to many other politicians who had made it a habit standing next to the Principal as he makes his speeches without first seeking any clearance from minders of his entourage.

Keeping away such people is equally important as it enables the Principal observe physical distancing requirements while ultimately shielding himself against any exposure to Coronavirus. The much-gagged Latif is perceived as a very greedy politician who is always opportunistically jumping from one high voltage politician to another ostensibly to secure re-election.

This exactly is what he did in 2016 when he anticipated JPAM to be a high voltage politician and when JPAM things cracked, the same Latif quickly switched to KB under the auspices of Erias Lukwago’s TJ platform. The truth is, except when called upon, the PP/NUP Principal doesn’t expect anybody to stand next to him as he delivers his frequent political addresses at NUP headquarters in Kamwokya.
