Sudhir Ruperalia is now the rightful owner- Museveni responds to Ex Simbamanyo boss Kamya!
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has finally responded to ex-owners of Simbamanyo House now Gender & Labour House in regard to its selling to city tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia saying he can’t help them because the properties were sold legally.

In September 2021, President Museveni directed Attorney General, Kiryowa Kiwanuka, to probe alleged fraud in the purported sale of Simbamanyo House and Afrique Suites, prime properties that belong to businessman Peter Kamya.

Museveni made the directive after Peter Kamya and Dr Margaret Muganwa Kamya had appealed to him( Museveni) seeking his intervention in the alleged illegal sale of the above-mentioned properties by Equity bank.

Kamya stated that their properties were sold when there were cases pending in court and without a court order thus the investigation and now the final response from the Son of Kaguta confirming that Sudhir Ruperalia is the rightful owner because the properties were legally sold.

”Following receipt of your complaint to me about the illegal sale of your properties by Equity bank, I directed the Attorney General and the Governor, Bank of Uganda to investigate the complaint and report back” Museveni said in a letter sent to Mr, Peter Kamya.

”I have since been advised that the sale was legal since you had defaulted on payment of the loan and did not deposit 30% of the loan amount as was ordered by court” Museveni added.

Sudhir Ruparelia last week officially renamed the former Simbamanyo House located at Plot 2 Lumumba Avenue to Gender & Labor House after the court confirmed him as the rightful owner in October 2020.

The building, now under the management of Meera Investments Ltd, a real estate firm of his Ruparelia Group houses the Ministry of Labor, Gender and Social Development among other tenants.

Sudhir acquired the building in October 2020 for UGX18.5b from Equity Bank after the previous owner Architect Peter Kamya defaulted on a bank loan. Mr Kamya also lost Afrique Suites in Mutongo that Equity Bank sold to Luwaluwa Investments.
