Teargas, Live Bullets Rock Mengo To Foil Singer Chameleon’s Office Launch

This morning, Police used teargas to disperse People Power activists who had flocked Baluntuma road in Mengo to witness 2021 Kampala City Lord Mayor hopeful Joseph Mayanja launch his office.

According to the police, the event organizers did not respect any SOPs as they were found packed at the venue

Chameleone was scheduled to officially open his campaign headquarters along Balintuma road in Rubaga division.

Police Tuesday moved early and heavily deployed at the venue and Officers directed that only two people be allowed inside

Chameleone had prepared tents and tables for his guests and managed to beat police deployment and sneaked into the office.

However, officers opened fire and dispersed both his team and journalists.
