Town Council Chairperson Survives Death After Unknown Assailants Set His House On Fire

The family of Charles Kabule the Kakira town council Chairperson are living in fear after unknown arsonists set his house ablaze on Thursday night.

It is suspected that arsonists stormed Kabuule’s house located in Polota B village in Kakira town council, Jinja district at about 1:00am.

Kabuule told journalists that the fire erupted at around 1:00am when they were already asleep. He however made it clear that no one was injured.

“I noticed smoke from the children’s bedroom at about 1.15am and broke into their room and rescued all of them,” said Kabuule.

Kabuule’s wife, Rinah Namata says they lost all household items including their academic documents and two land titles. “Our house is comprised of five bedrooms and all the property contained there was burnt,” says Kabiuule’s wife.

Namata however, says that while inspecting the scene of crime on Friday morning, they retrieved a Jerry can of fuel which had been dumped about five meters away from the burnt house.

The Kiira region police spokesperson, Abbey Ngako confirms the incident adding that they are investing the matter.
