Troubled DP Lose Big Shots To Bobi Wine’s NUP – The Game Is On

Members who abandoned Democratic Party (DP) bloc include MPs, seasoned politicians, were received by the National Unity Platform (NUP) on Thursday and given party membership cards, officially becoming members of the party led by Robert Kyagulanyi a.ka Bobi Wine.
These include Singer Jose chameleon, Medard Sseggona, Betty Nambooze, Moses Kasibante, Mathias Mpuuga, Muwanga Kivumbi, Kenneth Paul Kakande, Kigozi Ssajjalyabene, Matia Lwanga Bwanika, Mike Mabikke, Allan Ssewanyana and Samuel Walter Lubega Mukaku and others

scores of members of people power and newly formed national unity platform converged at the people power offices at Kamwokya to commemorate the people who lost their lives mostly during different clashes with security over the last two years.
The NUP president announced that today they are designating this date 13 August as the party’s heroes day which will be marked annually
on this day in 2018 in what is arguably the turning point in Bobi wine’s political career, Mr Yasin Kavuma his driver was shot dead in fracas during the Arua parliamentary by election.

Meanwhile, the picking of expression of interest forms for the NUP presidential flag bearer will kick off on Friday (August 14). This means that as it stands, the party has no presidential flag bearer yet for the 2021 elections.
Kyagulanyi is seeking to challenge the incumbent, President Yoweri Museveni of the NRM, in the forthcoming presidential elections.
