Uganda Confirms 1,564 Covid-19 New Cases Ahead Of Museveni’s National Address On Covid-19 Surge

 

Uganda’s Ministry of Health has confirmed 1,564 covid-19 new cases in the last 24 hours from the results of COVID-19 tests done on 16 June 2021 bringing the total cumulative confirmed cases are 68,779.

The breakdown of the new cases are:
1,558 Contacts and Alerts: Kampala (784) Wakiso (164) Mpigi (107) Gulu (61) Kasese (59) Tororo (42) Mbarara (33) Arua (24) Masaka (21) Kayunga (20) Yumbe (20) Luwero (18) Zombo (18) Soroti (17) Jinja (14) Butaleja (17) Iganga (11)

Kyotera (10) Mukono (10) Masindi (9) Kiryandongo (8) Bukomansimbi (8) Adjumani (8) Packwach (6) Moyo (6) Kisoro (4) Namayingo (4) Kanungu (4) Rukungiri (4) Kumi (4) Koboko (3) Mbale (2) Hoima (2) Omoro (2) Busia (2) Mukono (2) Maracha (2) Kyegegwa (1) Mbale (1) Amuru (2)

This development comes at a time when Museveni is set to address the nation today on the way forward on how the country can deal with the covid-19 surge.

President Museveni returns today after his 6th June address that imposed 42 days of partial lockdown to the country as a means of curtailing the current spread of Covid19.
