Victoria University, Ruparelia Foundation sponsor Uganda Para Badminton international tournament with UGX 10m
The giving hand of Ruparelia Foundation and Victoria University Kampala have extended UGX 10 million as sponsorship to the ongoing Uganda Para-Badminton International Tournament.

While handing over the dummy cheque to the organisers, the vice-chancellor, Victoria University Dr Lawrence Muganga noted that they are supporting every country whose students are studying at Victoria University.

”Victoria University and Ruparelia Foundation are proud to sponsor the Uganda Para Badminton International Tournament. With teams from all over the world competing for the ultimate prize, we are supporting every country whose students are studying with us” Muganga said.

The tournament which kicked off on November 15, 2021, mainly focuses on people with disabilities.

Over 24 countries participated in this tournament at the Lugogo MTN Arena with India bringing in the highest number of players. India also won the highest number of medals, 47 medals including 16 golds.

“It was a good match and it feels good to break the jinx and win a gold medal after 2 years. This will motivate me to work harder,” India’s Sukant Kadam said.

World number one Pramod Bhagat had a tough day in office as the Tokyo Paralympics gold medalist lost all his three finals.
