Victoria University to host Ugandan celebrities in weekend soccer bonanza
Uganda’s leading education hub, Victoria University Kampala, has organized a special weekend full of action with a soccer bonanza dubbed “Friends of Victoria University” which will feature the victoria University community and media personalities.

According to Victoria University, the soccer bonanza is happening this weekend on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Kampala Parents School playgrounds located along Lugogo bypass.

According to the program, the first between Victoria University Professors captained by the Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Lawrence Muganga, against the entertainment team captained by Urban TV’s Miles Rwamiti.


Others that will feature on the media team include, Comedy store boss Alex Muhangi as its lead striker and musician Gravity Omutujju as the goalkeeper other media personalities and musicians to entertain you all day long.

The second match of the day shall feature the VU staff and students taking on another team from the media fraternity that will include journalists, artists, comedians, bloggers, and other stakeholders in the entertainment industry.

It’s worth noting that this event is free and open to the general public from 10 am to 4:00 pm for friends of victoria university and soccer fans.

Victoria University noted that the soccer bonanza is a move aimed at bringing the message of higher education closer to the media fraternity and the general public, who according to the vice-chancellor Lawrence Muganga are the real consumers of the service and therefore deserve such engagements and more.

Victoria University students have a variety of co-curricular activities they can engage in including Football, Netball, Basketball, Volleyball, and Woodball with a Students’ Lounge, furnished with a video games console, pool table, and table tennis is quite popular with students.
