The opposition Forum for Democratic Change party candidate, Eng. Patrick Amuriat Oboi has finally unleashed the key agenda of his candidature as he sustains the narrative that the ballot cannot oust the 76 year old tyrant, Gen. Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Museveni.
While addressing journalists at his local residence in Soroti (Teso region), Amuriat told Ugandans that as the FDC party, they are not excited about winning the 2021 general elections.
“We are not excited about winning an election because we have won a number of times before and we shall win this one too,” Amuriat intimates. “This time we are focused on making sure a win is respected by the Junta,” he adds.
The FDC party has been accused of failing to embrace the calls for unity and fielding a sole opposition candidate to take on Gen. Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Museveni. Even as Amuriat launched his trail at his home district, the youths urged him to step down and support Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert of the NUP party.
“We don’t understand why he is taking part in an election which he does not believe in,” Opolot Joseph, a Teso youth reacts. “If the FDC does not believe in the polls then it is better for them to withdraw and rally behind Bobi Wine,” he adds.
