Why are you not opening his casket for public viewing? -Jacob Oulanyah’s ex-wife

The ex-wife lady Winnie Amoo to the late Rt. Hon Jacob Oulanyah has blasted the speaker of parliament Anita Among saying she has no authority to view the body on behalf of all Ugandans as she ruled in a plenary sitting on 5th April in honor of the fallen speaker.

”why were close family members not allowed to go to Seattle to check on the sick person, especially his dad? ” she added.

Winnie Amoo has further tasked the government to open her ex-husband’s casket for public viewing.

Oulanyah’s body has not been viewed by the public as well as Parliament where MPs wanted to view the body but speaker Among rejected their request saying she had viewed the body on behalf of all MPs.

“What is awake or vigil without viewing? She wrote on her Facebook page, questioning the manner in which the government is handling her ex-husband’s burial.

Amoo said that people should be allowed to view Oulanyah’s body because he had close relatives and friends.

“No one has seen him since he ‘so called’ landed. What kind of life is this we are living? And why are the MPs OK with it, we must wake up Uganda,” she wrote.

”No one has seen, and is it a crime for the rest to view?” she added.

Oulanyah died on March 20 in Seattle Hospital in the United States where he had been admitted for specialized treatment.
