Reports coming in indicate that the renowned comedy skit makers commonly known by their stage name ‘Bizonto’ have been arrested.

The ‘mad and foolish’ guys were in studios in the second hour of their morning show, before they were picked like helpless grasshoppers and whisked away in a police patrol.

Sources have since told our reporter that they’re to be arraigned before Buganda Road Court today Friday at 11:00am and later sent to the university of understanding.

“Today is Friday, expect no further bail since they abused it, just know they’re going to prison. If they’re indeed mad that they forgot their bail conditions, then prison wardens at Luzira will keep reminding them as they will be the ones responsible to be producing them before the court every time they’re wanted,”  one of the arresting officers said.

“They are on their way to Buganda Road court. They had a sanctioned file for allegations of promoting sectarianism,” CID’s mouth peace Charles twine posted on a WhatsApp media group.

According to sources, their charges stem from last year’s arrest in which they were detained for several days at Special Investigations Unit (SIU) Kireka.

The four comedians under their ‘Bizonto’ brand are Ssabakaki Simon Peter, Julius Sserwanja, Mercel Mbabali and Gold Kimatono. They were in July 2020 arrested for releasing a satirical skit in which they mentioned several heads of government institutions insinuating that they all hail from the western part of the country.

In their skit, the group mentioned President Museveni, Electoral Commission, UNRA, Uganda Prisons, URA, NSSF, Ministry of Finance, ISO and CMI bosses.

The police then slapped on them charges related to recording and sharing a video with the potential of causing hatred and unnecessary apprehension and it is the same charges that have seen them arrested for the second time, after jumping bail.

Their arrest also comes days after they trolled pro-regime pastor, Aloysius Bujingo in a skit that made rounds on social media. Sources link the arrest to this particular troll on the city pastor.

Bujingo has reportedly cautioned all those who ridicule him on social media. It is said that he is to also sue Hon. Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine if he does not rein into the alleged ‘misconduct’ of his supporters who have turned Bujingo into their ‘daily meal.’
