What’s your brand?
Your purpose will directly help you develop a personal brand that is best suited for YOU.
When you think of someone you admire in your industry, or even your own work place, what springs to mind?
Is it their skill, reliability, sense of fair play, fearlessness in expressing an opinion, talent for innovation? Whatever the handful of attributes you identify, that is their ‘personal brand’, based on how you expect them to behave and who you know them to be.
I believe that everyone should have a personal brand that is in line with their purpose. We all need to develop that brand diligently if it is to represent what you are here on earth for and therefore what you stand for: when neglected or ignored, it could easily become either contradictory or just uninspiring, killing your credibility as an individual.
For example, like I shared in last weeks YouTube video, my purpose here on earth is to Challenge mothers to maximize their potential (business & career) and call out their God given ability to balance it with raising the next generation of African innovative children that will change the trajectory of Africa.
And so my personal brand personality is challenging, inspiring, enterprising, innovative, vulnerable, authentic & real but if my personal brand is communicating something different such as being indulgent as a slay queen, or irresponsible as an late party goer, then I’m not being consistent and the result will be confusion; the goal of building a personal brand in line with your purpose is to build trust!
